Meet at the entrance of the Passage de l'Internationale for the start of a one-hour guided tour, through the former industrial site of the Fives Cail factory in Lille-Hellemmes.
This former metallurgical production site, which was abandoned in 2001 when the factory closed, is now transformed into a lively Ecoquartier, open and committed to environmental transition.
Since 2011, the development company Soreli has been implementing the urban transformation of this site on behalf of the European Metropolis of Lille and the City of Lille.
For this Heritage Day, the professionals of the development of Soreli exchange their work helmets to put on the tour guide cap: they tell you, over a walking tour in the public spaces of Fives Cail, how the urban metamorphosis underway on this site keeps the memory of its industrial past, while opening a new page in its history.
